About

A Unique Dining Experience

During the Roaring Twenties pilots known as Barnstormers traveled the country sharing the thrill of aviation by selling airplane rides and performing aerial acrobatics to enthusiastic crowds.

Today, Barnstormer’s Grill & Event Center lives up to its namesake as a destination restaurant appealing to pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and families of all ages, serving burgers, steaks, sandwiches, seafood and pasta from the grill while guests watch vintage and modern-day airplanes take off and land on the airstrip just outside the restaurant.

In addition to its aviation-themed restaurant and full bar, Barnstormer’s also serves as a full-service event center, hosting groups from 20 – 350 for galas, weddings, banquets, holiday parties, and other special events. Visit our Events page for more information.

Our Story

Barnstormers began as a simple sandwich and snack shop operated by the daughters of David Harwell, who owned Peach State Airport from 1994 until 2005. This popular pilot hangout evolved into a restaurant that seated around 40 people and served patrons Friday – Sunday.

In 2005, Ron Alexander, a retired Delta Captain, purchased Peach State Aerodrome and laid the groundwork for his vision for the small public-private airport, which included the Youth Aviation Program, Peach State Aerodrome, and Barnstormer’s Grill.

In 2008, Ron moved Barnstormer’s to the west side of the runway, its current home. Sadly, in 2016, Ron Alexander passed away unexpectedly. The Barnstormer’s team worked hard to keep the restaurant going in Ron’s absence until the spring of 2018 when Keven and Linda Sasser purchased Peach State Aerodrome and Barnstormer’s Grill from the Alexander family.

The Sasser’s vision was to enhance Peach State Aerodrome and Barnstormer’s Grill and Event Center by growing the family-friendly destination restaurant, developing a first-class event center, and continuing to build a vibrant airport community for aviation enthusiasts young and old.

In 2021 the Sasser’s desire to take the grill to the next level led to the sale of Barnstormers Grill and Event Center to Tracy Wallace, a local restauranter. Tracy’s energy and aviation passion has been perfect for our Peach State Aerodrome community.
